Pumpkin Lying To New Man
In the latest episode of Mama June: Family Crisis, Josh and Pumpkin Efird headed to see the attorney. They were ready to talk about divorce and what the next steps were. The couple officially filed in August 2024, and it was finalized not too long after. While they were married, Pumpkin allegedly began a relationship with Josh’s cousin, Darrin Kitchens. The two are still together, and she even slipped in a May 2025 interview by saying they had been together for around a year. Someone even allegedly saw a snap of Pumpkin and Darrin on her phone in the last episode.
Despite Pumpkin praising her new man and saying how happy she is, fans do not think it will last. They feel that the couple is still in the “honeymoon stage,” but when that wears off, he will see the true Pumpkin. Furthermore, viewers believe that Josh put up with a lot more than many, and Pumpkin will miss that in the long run. They added that she was never seen with friends and was likely lonely. Then, Darrin showed up and gave her what she wanted, so she grabbed at it.

Darrin has traveled with Pumpkin and Mama June, and he is still around. However, June claimed she does not know him all that well but feels he is good to the kids. That is all that matters to her, that Pumpkin has a good father figure for her children. Many do not feel that Pumpkin treated Josh all that well, but when the honeymoon is over, she will regret the divorce. She will be without a man and ultimately be heartbroken.
Josh Has Moved On
As much as Pumpkin Efird boasts her happiness, Josh Efird has also moved on. He has a new baby with his girlfriend, and seems content. However, everyone seems to think Pumpkin will miss Josh, and he will be long gone. The consensus is that Josh was a great father, not just to his four but Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson as well. When Mama June was deep in her addiction, Alana moved in with the newlyweds, and it changed everything. Yet, Alana does not want to see the marriage end because Pumpkin and Josh made her believe in love. Regardless, it does not appear promising for Pumpkin:
- Yep, the shine is going to wear off the Cuzbin and she’s gonna be alone
- She’s definitely going to regret divorcing Josh because she forgets how much he took care of Alana and was patient with her mother acting a fool with crack.
