The news divisions on network and cable television are undergoing huge changes. On the heels of CBS switching anchors, a Fox News fan favorite steps down in a shocking move. Keep reading to find out more about what’s going on.
Fox News Show Fan Favorite Steps Down In Shocking Move
Fox News has been crushing its cable news rivals, including CNN and MSNBC, in the ratings for decades. The channel has the highest-rated news programs, often thanks to the anchors. Fox News announced this week that a fan favorite anchor is stepping down in a shocking move.

Rachel Campos-Duffy has been a contributor with Fox News since 2016. She became a co-host of Fox & Friends Weekends in 2021. With her husband, Sean Duffy, as the current Transportation Secretary under President Trump, the network calls on her more than ever to share her opinions and thoughts.
The network launched FOX Noticias, a Spanish-language show in 2024 with Rachel Campos-Duffy as host. Fox News announced this week that they’re replacing her with someone else. Andrea Linares is the new host of the program, which will now be based in Miami, Florida.
Network Executives Explain Decision
Rachel Campos-Duffy will continue her role on Fox & Friends Weekends. However, she will no longer be involved in FOX Noticias. Katrina Campins and Julie Banderas continue as rotating anchors on the Spanish-language news program.

The network didn’t share a reason for the change, but their statement hinted at the cause. “We are very excited to welcome Andrea to our team on FOX Noticias, and we are confident her reporting will resonate with our Latino audience,” the statement shared with the media said. The official statement implies that Rachel Campos-Duffy doesn’t connect with Latino viewers.
However, she also could have left that role to focus on other opportunities with Fox News or to spend time with her family. Rachel Campos-Duffy shares nine children with her husband, Sean Duffy. The couple met on MTV’s Road Rules: All Stars in 1998, several years after appearing on separate seasons of the network’s The Real World reality show.
Real World Fans Blast Rachel Campos-Duffy
Rachel Campos-Duffy was on what many consider the most iconic seasons of The Real World. Her housemates included Pedro Zamora, who publicly fought AIDS at a time when it wasn’t talked about much.
Pedro Zamora captivated the nation when he spoke openly about his sexuality, status and activism on The Real World San Francisco.

Fans of the MTV show took to social media to share their thoughts on Rachel Campos-Duffy’s
- “Rachel has always morphed into people she’s surrounded by. Mostly men she’s attracted to. Remember on SF she was slowly adopting Pucks style until he turned on her?”
- “She was the “rebellious Republican chick” on the show but it’s not remotely surprising to see what she’s like as a middle-aged woman in the current GOP.”
- “Yeah Rachel was always a Republican but she seemed more on the libertarian wing of fiscal economics but liberal socially, however now she seems full on MAGA cosplay.”
- “I can’t believe I liked her during the shows original run.”
- “Pedro is likely turning in his grave over her right wing bul**hit!”
- “She has become more extreme. I’m a Republican. Sometimes she says the strangest things. She needs to calm down. If she can. When she’s on I turn the channel. Fox can do better”
While she’ll no longer host the Spanish-language news program, TV viewers can find her on Fox & Friends Weekends.
