When getting ready for makeup on winter, it seems like everything and everyone looks different. Dry skin, chapped lips and favorite products that worked so well two months ago are not so working. Especially if you have dry skin, it gets worse. Some of the causes of dry skin on the face, can occur due to cold weather and dry air.
If you are one of those people who use the same make-up products and make-up techniques throughout the year, you should stop. Because skin conditions in winter and summer is different. So, you need to pay attention to which products depends on the seasons.
Well, here are beauty tips for winter make-up, especially if you have dry skin!
1. Using moisturizing scrub
The weather is cold and dry, it certainly makes our skin drier than usual. Dead skin cells continue to accumulate, if not well cleaned, it’s making dull skin face. Not only that, the acne prone is coming because the skin cells lack oxygen. Use moisturizing scrub regularly to remove dead skin without drying it out.
2. Always apply the moisturizer
In winter, don’t wipe your face after washing your face, just dry it with a cotton towel. Then, apply moisturizer all over the face while gently massaging. In addition, even though it has been coated with moisturizer and make-up, if you feel your skin feels dry, simply remove the make-up with a damp cloth and re-moisten your face with moisturizer. Don’t leave skin unprotected. Use sunscreen and moisturizer before going out.
3. Illuminating primer
Primer is a must when you have a whole day without time to re-make your beautiful face. Primer helps to set the foundation. If your skin is dry, choose a brightening primer. This will make the skin look naturally radiant. Keep in mind, in winter the primer should only be used in the T-Zone area, which gets oily easily. Namely the forehead, nose and chin.
4. Liquid foundation
Unlike hot summer days, opt for a liquid-based foundation for winter. A good liquid foundation will glide on perfectly on well scrubbed skin. If, you have oily skin, choose a mousse foundation, this will prevent your face from looking greasy when you work during the day.
5. Avoid compact powder
Instead, choose loose powder and apply gently with a brush. If in the middle of the day your face becomes oily, just pat your face with oil-absorbing paper.
6. Use highlighter
The summer glow is gone and the skin lacks a natural glow. Choose a good highlighter. If, you are not an expert when it comes to makeup, avoid liquid highlighters. Preferably, you choose high-pigmented and not too powdery.
7. Eye makeup
Keep your eyes makeup looking soft and smooth. Avoid using eye liner on the water line under the eyes, unless you want a smoky eye look. Use a cream-based metallic eyeshadow to highlight the inner V of your eyes. This will add a natural-looking shine to your look.
8. Lip gloss
In cold weather, lips tend to be drier and break easily. Moreover, the lips do not have oil glands. Cold winds, and dry air are the main factors for our lips to be cracked and rough. Therefore, apply lip gloss before using moisturizer to keep lips moist.
