The 2024 SAG Awards nominations have been revealed.
Oppenheimer and Barbie each scored four nominations, including nods in the SAG Awards‘ top category of best cast. However, one of Barbie‘s nominations is in the stunt performance category. Still, Barbie is the only film nominated in other categories to land a stunt nod.
Joining Oppenheimer and Barbie as best cast nominees are the casts of American Fiction, The Color Purple and Killers of the Flower Moon.
Oppenheimer was also nominated in the categories of best actor (Cillian Murphy), supporting actor (Robert Downey, Jr.) and supporting actress (Emily Blunt). Barbie is also nominated in the categories of best actress (Margot Robbie) and supporting actor (Ryan Gosling).
Killers of the Flower Moon and American Fiction earned three nominations apiece, including the best cast nods. In addition to best cast, Killers‘ Lily Gladstone is nominated for best actress and Robert De Niro is nominated for best supporting actor. American Fiction‘s Jeffrey Wright is nominated for best actor and Sterling K. Brown is nominated for best supporting actor.
The Color Purple‘s Danielle Brooks also earned a nod for best supporting actress. Other films nominated twice include Nyad, The Holdovers, Poor Things and Maestro.
On the TV side, Succession leads with five nods, including one for best ensemble in a drama series. Its fellow best drama ensemble nominees are The Crown, The Gilded Age, The Last of Us and The Morning Show.
Succession scored best drama actor nods for Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Matthew MacFadyen and a best drama actress nod for Sarah Snook.
In addition to the drama ensemble award, The Morning Show and The Last of Us are each up for two more awards. The Morning Show‘s Billy Crudup and Jennifer Aniston are nominated for best actor and actress, respectively, in a drama series. The Last of Us‘ Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are nominated for best actor and actress, respectively, in a drama series.
Ted Lasso and The Bear scored four nominations across the comedy categories, including best comedy series ensemble nods for both shows. Fellow best comedy series ensemble nominees are Abbott Elementary, Barry and Only Murders in the Building.
In addition to the ensemble nomination, Ted Lasso‘s Brett Goldstein and Jason Sudeikis are up for best actor in a comedy series and Hannah Waddingham is up for best comedy actress. And for The Bear, Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri are all nominated for individual acting awards. And Barry‘s Bill Hader is up for best comedy actor while the series also landed a nod for its stunts.
Beef stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong are both up for awards for their roles in the limited series, with the show also landing a stunt ensemble performance nomination.
Issa Rae, who is also a two-time SAG Awards nominee as part of the casts of American Fiction and Barbie, and Kumail Nanjiani announced this year’s nominees on Instagram Live on the SAG Awards and Netflix accounts.
During the announcement, Nanjiani pointed out that in the short time it took him to announce best cast, Rae was nominated twice.
The 30th annual SAG Awards will air live on Netflix on Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET from L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium.
