For nearly three decades, One Piece has transformed Devil Fruits from quirky pirate powers into some of the most terrifying abilities in anime. What began as a simple tradeoff of supernatural gifts in exchange for the inability to swim, has evolved into a sprawling story involving gods, reality warping, immortality, and powers capable of reshaping entire islands. In the series’ final saga, Devil Fruits no longer just decide battles; they determine who controls the future of the world itself.
That evolution has become especially clear in recent arcs, where the strongest figures in the Grand Line have revealed abilities far beyond anything seen in earlier eras of the story. From the absurd freedom of Luffy’s awakened Nika powers to Blackbeard’s darkness that can consume entire towns, Eiichiro Oda has steadily pushed Devil Fruits into near-mythic territory. Now, however, one mysterious figure stands above them all. With the reveal of Imu’s terrifying abilities during the Elbaph Arc, One Piece may have finally introduced the ultimate Devil Fruit, that feels less like a power and more like the source of all Devil Fruits themselves.

Gas-Gas Fruit (Gasu Gasu no Mi)
Type: Logia, User: Caesar Clown
The Gas-Gas Fruit is a Logia Devil Fruit eaten by Caesar Clown, Doctor Vegapunk’s evil former partner who created the artificial Devil Fruits SMILEs. As the name would imply, the Gas-Gas Fruit lets Caesar turn into and manipulate any and all gases, and it’s often used in conjunction with Caesar’s chemical weapons.
While Caesar was never that powerful of a villain, that doesn’t make the Gas-Gas Fruit any less powerful. In addition to the typical perks of intangibility provided by Logia fruits, Caesar’s Gas-Gas Fruit can be used to poison and suffocate anyone who gets too close to him, allowing him to easily incapacitate enemies far above him in power.
If the Gas-Gas Fruit was used by someone more competent, it would have easily given one of the best performances of any Devil Fruit, but even in Caesar’s hands, it’s still incredibly powerful.

Sand-Sand Fruit (Suna Suna no Mi)
Type: Logia, User: Crocodile
The deadly and versatile Sand Fruit proved capable of devastating the desert country of Alabasta by causing sand storms and extreme droughts. It allows its user to control and transform one’s body into sand, plus the ability to drain moisture nearly killed Luffy several times and was virtually unbeatable for anyone without Haki or moisture-infused attacks.
Crocodile showcased his Fruit’s incredible versatility during The War of the Best by flying around the battlefield and holding his own against some of the world’s strongest pirates, like Whitebeard and Doflamingo. With the former Straw Hat foe now a leading member of Buggy’s Cross Guild, fans will see more of the Sand Fruit in action before One Piece‘s end.

Barrier-Barrier Fruit (Bari Bari no Mi)
Type: Paramecia; User: Bartolomeo
The Barrier-Barrier Fruit is a Paramecia Devil Fruit eaten by Bartolomeo, a Super Rookie who commands the second ship of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Bartolomeo can use the Barrier-Barrier Fruit to create barriers around himself and others, and the barriers can even be remade into various shapes like spheres and staircases.
While it’s only made a handful of appearances in One Piece, the Barrier-Barrier Fruit is easily one of the strongest Devil Fruits in the series. There has yet to be any attack capable of so much as cracking Bartolomeo’s barriers, and it’s to the point that not even Oden, someone stronger than Kaido, could overcome the Barrier-Barrier Fruit.

Brush-Brush Fruit (Fude Fude no Mi)
Type: Paramecia, User: Kurozumi Kanjuro
Previously owned by the Wano soldier, Kurozumi, Kanjuro, the Brush-Brush Fruit allows for its user to manipulate ink generated from their bodies, and by using a brush, their drawings will come to life no matter how atrocious the final product. Originally, it was believed that Kanjuro was a pretty bad artist, making his creations less than formidable.
But in reality, he was concealing his talent. Kanjuro’s art, when brought to life, could perform extraordinary feats, replicating people to a tee, projecting his voice to act as messengers, and allegedly could prolong death if the user could transfer their consciousness. Oda’s One Piece is an odd world where just about anything can happen.
Placed in the hands of a true artist who could awaken the astounding abilities of the Brush-Brush Fruit could go on to carry out legendary feats.

Woods-Woods Fruit (Mori Mori no Mi)
Type: Logia, User: Admiral Ryokugyu “Green Bull” Aramaki
The Admirals of the One Piece series have consistently been some of the strongest characters, and the newest addition is no exception. Admiral Ryokugo (aka Green Bull) was properly introduced at the end of the Wano arc.
Still, his terrifying abilities quickly established that he was not someone to take lightly. Ryokugo’s Woods-Woods Devil Fruit allows him to become a Forest Human who can create, manipulate, and transform himself and his surroundings into flora.
Logia Devil Fruits are the rarest and often considered the most powerful type. Logia users are able to take the form of a particular element of nature and even produce it at will. Haki is often needed to combat such foes because Logia bodies are normally invulnerable to normal attacks.
Many applications of Green Bull’s powers were showcased against numerous foes on Wano. The Admiral can seemingly create a nearly infinite amount of wood that he can control at will and maneuver with great speed to defend and even impale enemies. He can absorb moisture from defeated foes and use it and sunlight to recharge his powers.
Ryokugyu has such impressive control of his Devil Fruit that he is immune to traditional fire attacks and can transform into a hulking tree golem of a man, making him a formidable opponent for anyone without an overwhelming amount of haki.

Huge-Huge Fruit (Deka Deka no Mi)
Type: Paramecia, User: Sanjuan Wolf
The Blackbeard Pirates have specifically hunted down many of the One Piece world’s strongest Devil Fruits, making them a colossal threat to nearly everyone in the series’ final arcs. Without question, the largest fighter on the team is the giant among giants, Sanjuan Wolf.
Eating the Huge-Huge Fruit allowed the giant to adjust his size, making Sanjuan the size of a several-story building or as large as a mountain capable of standing in the ocean. It’s currently unclear what the limits of the Huge Fruit are, but it’s already proved capable of considerable destruction.

Press-Press Fruit (Zushi Zushi no Mi)
Type: Paramecia, User: Admiral Fujitora, aka Issho
Fujitora is one of the newer Admirals introduced in One Piece, but that doesn’t make him or his Fruit any less powerful. The Press-Press Fruit allows Fujitora to manipulate gravity. He has used this power for some small-scale feats such as levitating objects and pinning enemies in place, his Fruit also has a much more extreme destructive potential.
In fact, Fujitora’s potential is so great it risks rivaling even One Piece’s ancient weapons like Uranus. Fujitora can call down large meteors from the sky to crush his enemies. This ability could cause mass destruction, making the Zushi Zushi Fruit easily one of the most powerful in the series.
23
Twinkle-Twinkle Fruit (Kira Kira no Mi)
Type: Paramecia, User: Diamond Jozu
The Paramount War saw the Whitebeard Pirates and many of the world’s strongest fighters clashing, spoiling audiences with several shocking displays of power. Many of the arc’s most significant attacks from powerhouses like Mihawk and Admiral Akainu failed to get past the defenses of Whitebeard Commander Jozu’s Twinkle Fruit.
By covering his entire body with diamonds, Jozu became unbreakable, allowing him to withstand any attack and reflect damage as he led his men into battle. Combined with his considerable strength, he could freely toss huge icebergs, showing that Jozu was a formidable force for anyone to reckon with.

Flame-Flame Fruit (Mera Mera no Mi)
Type: Logia, User: Formerly Portgas D. Ace, Currently Sabo
Introduced first by the user, Portgas D. Ace, the Flame-Flame Fruit proved to be a pretty powerful Devil Fruit that could incinerate leagues of areas within an instant or otherwise be compressed to fire a deadly bullet. As a logia type, it also turns its user into flame, making it difficult and dangerous in a physical fight.
“Fire Fist” Ace didn’t get a lot of chances to shine in the manga, but the anime would go on to depict many more fights where he was involved, bringing his battles to life in a way that carries on his legacy. Now that he’s passed, Sabo inherited the Flame-Flame fruit.
While there hasn’t been much screentime for Sabo to properly showcase how he uses the fruit now, there are still plenty of opportunities in later installments. Ace may be gone, but his Devil Fruit resides in one of his brothers now, carrying the torch quite literally in his stead.

Slow-Slow Fruit (Noro Noro no Mi)
Type: Paramecia, User: Foxy
Now, while not everyone has come to like Foxy the Silver Fox, nor the arc he was featured in, he did display some pretty astonishing (if not frustrating) abilities that proved he was quite capable against even the strongest of the Straw Hat Pirates. By manipulating their target through a beam, Foxy could slow down an object or a person.
While initially not that impressive, one has to wonder what would happen if someone who is combat-intensive, like Zoro or Sanji, had this Devil Fruit instead. Through training and dedication, the Slow-Slow Fruit could prove itself to be deadly, trapping opponents in a never-ending cycle of progression where minutes, hours, even days could pass before they land a single hit.
