The Citadel and the Jungle each feature Sub-Camps for Hunters to discover and unlock in the new expansion Monster Hunter Rise, Sunbreak.
With Sunbreak‘s introduction of the two locales in Monster Hunter Rise, the Citadel and the Jungle, Hunters now have a host of new locations and secrets to explore, such as the Sub-Camps of each biome. Sub-Camps are additional fast-travel points on a map that provide players with a tent where they can eat Dango, sort items, swap gear, and use the Buddy Board. The main differences between a Sub-Camp in Monster Hunter Rise and the main starting camp are the lack of supply boxes and the inability to deliver quest items to Sub-Camps.
Each locale in Monster Hunter Rise features a single Sub-Camp location. Accordingly, Sunbreak‘s Citadel and Jungle each contain a discoverable Sub-Camp for Hunters to find. Unlocking the Sub-Camps in Sunbreak is the same procedure as in the older locales. The players must first discover the campsite’s location by physically entering the site and approaching the burnt-out bonfire. A notification indicating the campgrounds have been found will appear as NPC dialogue, after which the Hunter must return to the Elgado Outpost and complete a quest.
A Sub-Camp’s delivery quest tasks players with completing an objective for Oboro the Merchant, an NPC vendor in Elgado Outpost. Once the task has been fulfilled, the campsite will become available the next time the Hunter enters the new locale in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
Jungle Sub-Camp Location in MHR
First, to find the Sub-Camp for the Jungle in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Hunters must search for a hidden location between Zone 8 and 9. Below are the steps for finding this campsite:
- 1: Starting from the main camp, go left along the beach of Zone 11 and cut through the cave of Zone 7.
- 2: After reaching Area 3, turn right and look for three Spiribugs on the wall leading to an alcove.
- 3: After discovering the Sub-Camp’s location, return to Elgado, and receive the quest, “Jungle Sub-Camp Security.”
- 4: Slay Hermitaurs 8/8 to unlock the Sub-Camp.
Citadel Sub-Camp Location in MHR
Next, to find the Sub-Camp for the Citadel in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Hunters must search for a hidden location in MHR directly north of Zone 4. Below are the steps for finding this campsite:
- 1: Starting from the main camp, head northward from Zone 1, through Zone 2, and into Zone 5.
- 2: Follow the trail to the gray area in the northeast of Zone 5 and search for a narrow hidden pathway in the ravine leading to the Sub-Camp.
- 3: After discovering the site’s location, return to Elgado, and receive the quest, “Citadel Sub-Camp Security.”
- 4: Slay Boggi 8/8 to unlock the Sub-Camp.
