As a new year begins, I’m sure we can all agree to be a little bit more normal about GTA 6, right? No, I didn’t think so. Screw it, let’s dive into 2026 with the same energy we’ve had since 2023 and obsess over when the next trailer for the game is actually going to land.
To be fair, I can understand why gamers are so intense about GTA 6. Since the game was officially announced in 2022, we’ve had exactly two trailers (and some leaks). With release scheduled for November 19 this year, you have to hope that surely 2026 is the year we get the third, gameplay-focused trailer we’ve all been dying to see.
GTA 6’s Third Trailer Has A Lot Riding On It

There is absolutely no way we don’t get a third trailer for GTA 6 in 2026, unless Rockstar Games decides to delay to 2027. And I don’t really want to even joke about that right now.
So, the question becomes: when in 2026 is that third trailer coming? Speculation is already rife on the GTA 6 subreddit, with the usual rash of conspiracy theories and blind guesswork. The consensus seems to be that we can expect a new trailer in May before marketing ramps up properly, but again, I must stress this is pure speculation. Heck, the top comment of May 19 for trailer three on one thread is only at the top because the poster guessed the release date for trailer two. We’re all so starved of official updates that this is what we have to accept as good enough.
The rest of that particular thread is a combination of genuine attempts at logic and complete madness. “November 19, 2026” is one of my favorite guesses. But I also enjoyed “February 29” and “either now or later.”

Jokes aside, May 2026 does genuinely look like it’d be the perfect time to start showing off gameplay properly. I guess Rockstar Games could also look to do a proper showcase around June, if it wanted to absolutely devastate every other publisher and developer planning to show off new games around that traditional E3/Summer Games Fest period.
For now, we’ll have to stick to the usual unhinged conspiracy theories around GTA 6‘s long-awaited third trailer. Part of me was hoping we could leave that all in 2025, but if I’m being honest with myself, I wouldn’t want the GTA 6 community to change now. Not when we’re so close to release.
