Ms. Marvel Cast Guide: Every Marvel Character

Warning! Contains spoilers for Ms. Marvel.

Marvel Studio’s Ms. Marvel is the latest MCU show to drop on Disney+ and its delightful roster of characters is stacked with a number of newcomers – here’s every Ms. Marvel cast member and where you’ve seen them. Ms. Marvel follows the story of Kamala Khan, a teenager living in New Jersey who is obsessed with superheroes and prone to getting completely lost in daydreams. When an old bangle bracelet awakens Kamala’s powers as Ms. Marvel, it’s her chance to become a superhero. Soon, she’s learning to control her strange new powers and is caught up in a world she’s not quite ready for.

    SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Ms. Marvel series is based on the comics and characters created by Sana Amanat, G. Willow Wilson, and Adrian Alphona. As a comic book character, Kamala Khan hasn’t been around that long, only first appearing in 2013. But her impact on pop culture and Marvel comics has been enormous, with her quickly developing a loyal following. Part of that was due to Kamala Khan being the first Pakistani-American, Muslim superhero to headline her own comic book series. But it was also due to the fact that she’s just so relatable as a character.

Naturally, that meant Marvel would have to cast just the right person to step into the role of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. It also required assembling a talented cast around her. Here’s a breakdown of the TV-PG-rated Ms. Marvel cast, the Marvel characters from the comics, and the actors who play them.

Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel Trailer Has Surprising No Way Home Connection

Iman Vellani plays Kamala Khan, a bubbly, awkward, 16-year-old girl from Jersey City. Kamala struggles to balance her American life with her Pakistani culture and Muslim faith. When her latent powers are awakened, she finally becomes the superhero she’s always dreamed of being, only to realize it’s not quite as glamorous as she imagined. Vellani is a true Hollywood newcomer; she’s leading the Ms. Marvel cast in her first-ever acting credit. She’ll also be seen next year in The Marvels alongside Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris.

    Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli

Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli in Ms Marvel

Matt Lintz plays Bruno Carrelli, Kamala’s best friend since childhood who always loyally stands by her. Bruno is a tech whiz and he’s always coming up with ingenious gadgets. However, he may be developing feelings for Kamala that she may or may not return. Lintz is best-known for playing Henry in The Walking Dead. Audiences may also recognize him from The Alienist, where he played Stevie Taggart.

    Yasmeen Fletcher as Nakia

Nakia, played by Yasmeen Fletcher in Ms. Marvel, is Kamala’s other best friend. She’s level-headed and determined to change things for the better in their Muslim community. Unlike Bruno, however, Nakia isn’t as sold on superheroes, believing they cause more harm than good. Disney audiences will recognize Fletcher from Andi Mack, where she played Kaitlyn, and from the movie Upside-Down Magic.

    Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan

Zenobia Shroff plays Muneeba Khan, Kamala’s mother, in Ms. Marvel. She loves Kamala fiercely and just wants what’s best for her daughter, but her strict Pakistani upbringing often means she comes down hard on Kamala in Ms. Marvel. Shroff is best known for her role as Sharmeen in The Big Sick, along with playing Himaya Pravesh in The Resident and Priya Ullah in The Affair.

    Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan

Mohan Kapur plays Yusuf Khan, Kamala’s dad. Unlike his wife, Yusuf recognizes that they have to allow Kamala to grow up and have a little bit of freedom. He’s quieter than Muneeba but is one of Kamala’s greatest sources of support in Ms. Marvel. The India-born Kapur is likely most recognizable to U.S. audiences from his role in Hostages, where he played Subramanian.

    Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan

    Ms Marvel Amir Saagar Shaikh

Aamir Khan, played in Ms. Marvel by Saagar Shaikh, is Kamala’s older brother. He tries to act as a buffer between Kamala and their parents, but as he’s busy planning his wedding, his attention isn’t entirely on what’s happening with his little sister. Shaikh can be seen in the TV series Unfair & Ugly, where he plays Haaris, as well as Just Giggle It, where he’s appeared as a number of different characters.

    Rish Shah as Kamran

Rish Shah as Kamran Ms Marvel

Rish Shah plays Kamran, a new guy at school who instantly becomes Kamala’s crush in Ms. Marvel. He and Kamala bond over their shared culture, which causes Bruno to feel a bit jealous. However, there was more to Kamran than first meets the eye. In episode 3 it was revealed Kamran and his mother, Najma, are Clandestines, aka. Djinn.  Audiences will recognize Shah from his role as Ravi in To All the Boys: Always and Forever and from his guest role on Emmerdale Farm playing Kirin Kotecha.

    Nimra Bucha as Najma

Najma (Nimra Bucha) is Kamran’s mother and the leader of the Clandestines, a mysterious group of Djinn from the dimension known as Noor. She first appears to Kamala in a vision, and when the two meet, Najma explains Kamala’s extradimensional heritage to her. Najma is an antagonist of the series and wants to use Kamala to return to her home dimension, from which she’s been exiled. She is portrayed by Nimra Bucha, a Pakistani actress hailing from Karachi with an extensive range of accolades in her home country, including a Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress.

He’s also known for roles as Stewy Hosseini in Succession and Todd in the miniseries Inventing Anna.

Aramis Knight as Kareem / Red Dagger – Kareem is the vigilante known as Red Dagger, with whom Kamala crosses paths. Along with Ms. Marvel, Knight is best known for his longtime role as M.K. on Into the Badlands and Bean in Ender’s Game.

Adaku Ononogbo as Fariha – Another Clandestine that follows Najma, Fariha can be seen wielding a powerful spear during the attack on Aamir’s wedding. Adaku Ononogbo is a British actress, and Ms. Marvel isn’t her first Marvel Studios project. She also appeared in Netflix’s Jessica Jones as Sheena.

Dan Dargan Carter as Saleem – A Clandestine/Djinn follower of Najma who wields a superpowered whip. He injures Bruno during the battle at Aamir’s wedding and has a showdown against Kamran.
