With fiancé Geoffrey Paschel behind bars, Varya Malina is feeling lonely, and the 90 Day Fiancé star has an unusual plan to make new friends.
Former 90 Day Fiancé franchise star Varya Malina recently admitted that she’s having a tough time meeting people, which has prompted her to document her search for new friends on social media. Varya gained franchise fame when she appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days alongside her finacé Geoffrey Paschel. However, she experienced a fall from grace in the eyes of viewers when she stuck by Geoffrey’s side as he faced abuse charges. Geoffrey was eventually sentenced to 18 years in prison, and Varya has lost followers by remaining committed to him.
With Geoffrey behind bars, Varya has been feeling lonely, and on Instagram she revealed, “I’ve decided to do an experiment.” The Russian 90 Day Fiancé star shared a throwback photo from when she first arrived in the U.S., musing, “I moved to the US 2 years ago, but I am still looking for like minded people and friends.” Though Varya admits she has found “a few cool people,” she still wants to make more friends. “I’ve decided to do a mini reality,” Varya revealed (presumably implying a mini reality show), “where I’ll be looking for new friends in America.”
90 Day Fiancé Fans Might Not Want To Be Varya’s Friend
Varya added that she wants to make 10 new friends before Christmas, and she asked her followers if they think she’ll be able to reach that goal. Currently, 86-percent of the followers who answered believe Varya will manage to make that many friends by the end of the year, though it’s surprising that she got so much support. While Varya and Geoffrey were initially a popular franchise couple, the news about Geoffrey’s violent past made many fans only too eager to forget about both him and Varya.
Some viewers hoped that Varya would kick Geoffrey to the curb after hearing the courtroom testimony of Geoffrey’s victims, but Varya stubbornly stuck by his side regardless. Varya has reportedly been struggling with depression and loneliness, so it makes sense that she would want to make more friends in America. However, her insistence of Geoffrey’s innocence may be turning away potential friends. There are many fans who think Varya is actively tarnishing her reputation, and they would have much more respect for Varya if she stopped supporting Geoffrey
There’s no denying that Varya has seen some rough years since coming to the U.S. The 90 Day Fiancé star’s immigration process was not difficult and she enjoyed traveling around the country for a time. However, with her fiancé in prison and the recent adverse side effects of the medical study Varya was a part of, she is feeling more down than ever. Friends and a robust support system are essential when battling feelings of depression, so it’s not surprising that Varya is looking to meet new people. But how her “mini reality” show will play out on social media is anyone’s guess, and Varya may find that with her reputation, making friends will be an uphill battle.
