Jen Shah of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has pleaded guilty to charges against her. Now, Bravo fans are curious about what may happen to her.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City were surprised to learn that Jen Shah had changed her plea to guilty, with many wondering what will happen to her now. The mother of two has been a polarizing character on the newest Real Housewives franchise. Now that she has taken responsibility, this could mean the end of the road for Jen on the Bravo series.
In March 2021, Bravo fans were shocked by the news of Jen’s telemarking scandals. Last season showed Jen being arrested by the FBI and charged with wire fraud and money laundering over her alleged involvement in a nationwide telemarketing scheme. RHOSLC cameras didn’t miss a beat as the police showed up during filming. Little did anyone know that Jen, who had lied about her husband being in the hospital, was on the run. At the time, Jen was facing up to 30 years in prison, but after a recent turn of events, her fate may have changed.
As RHOSLC fans learned in season 2, Jen was being accused of selling lead lists that targeted older, unsuspecting victims to solicit services they never received. While viewers may be wondering what the next step is for Jen, many will be surprised to learn that she will still be filming RHOSLC (via People). Evidently, Jen’s legal issues are too good for the network to give up on, and they want to film her as long as possible, just like they did with Teresa Giudice.
Jen went to a New York City court on Monday to change her plea from not guilty to guilty. The 48-year-old told Judge Stein that she did understand what she had done and apologized to the victims. As part of the plea deal, Jen can be sentenced to up to 168 months or 14 years behind bars. While it still seems like an extremely long time, it beats her original sentencing of 30 years. Along with a slightly lower sentence, Jen will have to forfeit $6,500,000 in restitution. Jen had hoped to be able to spend time with her family up to Thanksgiving, but the judge didn’t budge when noting her sentence date would be October 12, 2022.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 3 has completed filming but did film the days leading up to her guilty plea. While it is unlikely that cameras caught Jen entering her plea deal, they will see the aftermath. Viewers are curious about how Jen’s husband, Coach Shah, will deal with the news, especially since he seemed to have such a strong moral compass. For now, Jen will have to sit and wait until her sentencing date to find out the rest of her fate.
