Continuing the annual Long Island tradition, the St. Jude Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Classic returns to Oheka Castle and the Cold Spring Country Club on June 23 and 24.
As always, the event is being spearheaded by Rich “Big Daddy” Salgado, who is excited to have the sponsorship of Delta Airlines, Oheka Castle, Arizona Iced Tea and Nike, and the participation of an impressive lineup of professional athletes (current and retired), media personalities and other celebrities taking to the links for a good cause. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The festivities are slightly different this year than in the past. Sunday evening, June 23, at 7:00, Oheka Castle will host a VIP, invitation only dinner. Monday afternoon, with a 12:30 pm tee time, the golf tournament gets underway at the Cold Spring Country Club, followed by a gala dinner there from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. As in previous years, there will be a silent and live auction of sports memorabilia, and special events packages. Musical entertainment will once again spotlight the stylings of Michael Martocci.
Rich Salgado is particularly exited about a special appearance by Tyler, a former St. Jude patient from Memphis who is now cancer free. “I met Tyler about ten years ago,” Salgado explained. “He’s a real St. Jude success story, so it’ll be great to welcome him and hear his inspiring story.” Salgado has been proud of this partnership with St. Jude and their incredible work in the treatment of children’s cancer.
Tickets for the St. Jude Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Classic start at $300 (Gala only) and other individual and group packages are available now at www.stjude.org/bigdaddygolf
