ILLIT enlist Sophie Powers for new version of ‘Jellyous’

ILLIT have shared a new version of their song ‘Jellyous’, this time featuring Sophie Powers – check it out below.

Last Friday (August 01), the Belift Lab K-pop group released a new version of ‘Jellyous’, which first premiered on their June EP ‘Bomb’. The new version includes a feature from rising Canadian singer-songwriter and social media star Sophie Powers.

The newly released version sees Sophie Powers take over the second verse: “Talking stages are not for me / Like come here, give it up / I need you to myself, yeah / Got me spying on you / Spying on you, won’t see me / I’d be lying saying, you’re not on my mind / That toothbrush, throw it out / Cell phone, throw it out / Group chat, throw it out / New cologne, throw it out.”

Check out ILLIT’s ‘Jellyous’ featuring Sophie Powers below.

Besides the original version of ‘Jellyous’, ILLIT’s ‘Bomb’ EP arrived in June and included the songs ‘little monster’, ‘Billyeoon Goyangi (Do The Dance)’, ‘oops!’ and ‘bamsopoong’.

In a four-star review of the ‘Bomb’ EP, NME‘s Puah Ziwei wrote: “Three EPs in, and it’s safe to say that ILLIT, for the most part, know what works for them: earnest, high-energy songs about young love. They might be sticking to this formula closely, but at the same time, they aren’t afraid to play around in the margins, mixing in different sounds and textures to create music that’s just fresh enough to keep us coming back for more.”

Sophie Powers first gained recognition earlier this year through her stand-out American Idol audition that went viral for her quirky self-written lyrics. Since then, she’s garnered a following on social media and has released her own music, and has also participated in ILLIT dance challenges on TikTok. The K-pop group have similarly participated in Powers’ ‘Move With Me’ challenge.
