Jon Bernthals’s The Punisher coming to the big screen for the first time in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Bernthal’s Frank Castle will join returning cast members Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, along with newcomer Sadie Sink, in the upcoming fourth installment of the current Spider-Man franchise. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is slated to hit theaters on July 31st, 2026.
Bernthal first debuted as The Punisher on Netflix’s Daredevil series back in 2016, before going on to headline his own spin-off series. He recently reprised the role for Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again and is also set to star in a standalone Punisher special, which will precede the Spider-Man film in 2026. His reunion with Holland is something of a full-circle moment as both actors helped each other audition for their respective Marvel roles while on the set of the 2017 film Pilgrimage.
