Krist Novoselic joined a Nirvana/Foo Fighters tribute band called FooVana for a handful of Nirvana songs during a show at Georgie’s Garage in Vancouver, Washington on Thursday night (July 18th).
The Nirvana bassist performed with the Portland, Oregon-based tribute act on “Blew,” “Lithium,” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” It was apparently the first time Novoselic played “Blew” live in more than three decades.
Shortly before the show, FooVana alerted fans to Novoselic’s appearance, showing a photo of the bassist onstage and writing, “Get down here to Georgie’s Garage and Grill! Show’s about to start! Oh yeah that’s right… Somebody else is here!!!”
Novoselic recently made news when it was announced that he was running for President of the United States in an effort to get the Cascade Party of Washington to be recognized by the state as a “bona fide party.”
