“Music being identical with heaven, isn’t a thing of momentary thrills or even hourly ones. It’s a condition of eternity”….Gustav Holst
Amidst the Orchestra 914 mentors and their students, master violinist Daisy Jopling stood on the stage as a vibrant illumination, like a refracted rainbow of light from a shattered looking glass with the colors spilling out of a kaleidoscope & acting as a canopy for the stars… Irradiance is ‘the fact of shining brightly’ & Daisy, Orchestra 914, w/ conductors Dean Fransen and Kathleen Feldman, The Daisy Jopling Band, the 56 choir students from the Peekskill High School City Singers and Concert Choir, the Hendrick Hudson High School Treble Makers and Blue Mountain Middle School Select Choir, Ovation Strings & featured performers Eva Sita and Frank Shiner outshined the stars in the night sky.
Daisy’s music excited the hearts of her audience. She has the ability to communicate what others feel through the strings of her electric and acoustic violin. She gives her soul to touch the hearts of others. The violin is a strong current that tells a story as it’s played.
Her selections included, Primordial, Plastic Day, Awakening, Prayer, World Citizen, Take Time, Baba O’Riley, and a cascade of others. Beyond the actual performance Daisy included the students giving them a chance to find a dream and follow it. The Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation “brings the power of world-class music-making into community performances that transform people’s lives.” It inspires education and support to young students giving them the chance to play with world-class musicians on stage.
Daisy Jopling is like a super nova, a powerful luminous stellar explosion that emits the same energy in a single instant that our sun will generate in over 1 million years….
