Randy Edelman: American Original brings the acclaimed composer and songwriter back to Carnegie Hall for his third appearance on the legendary New York stage
Tickets are now available for Randy Edelman: American Original, as the acclaimed composer, songwriter and performer prepares to return to Carnegie Hall on Saturday, December 19, 2026, for his third performance at the legendary New York venue.
The upcoming concert will put Edelman exactly where audiences have come to appreciate him most: alone at the piano, sharing the music and stories of an extraordinary career that has moved effortlessly between Hollywood, popular music and the concert stage.
With no orchestra or backing musicians separating the performer from the audience, American Original offers an unusually intimate look at the man behind some of film and popular music’s most memorable melodies. Edelman blends live performances with personal stories from decades spent composing for Hollywood, writing songs and working within the entertainment industry.
His return to Carnegie Hall carries particular significance. The historic venue has welcomed generations of the world’s most celebrated composers, musicians and performers, and the December 19 appearance will mark Edelman’s third time performing on its stage.
Long before becoming one of Hollywood’s recognizable film composers, Edelman established himself as a songwriter. His songs have been recorded by artists including Barry Manilow, Patti LaBelle and The Carpenters, while his move into motion pictures eventually produced an extensive body of film work.
His credits include the sweeping music associated with The Last of the Mohicans, Gettysburg, Kindergarten Cop and The Mask, among many others. His work on The Last of the Mohicans also earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
Yet Randy Edelman: American Original isn’t simply a retrospective of famous credits. The show brings together the different sides of Edelman’s career — composer, songwriter, pianist, storyteller and performer — in a format that feels personal rather than ceremonial.

The Carnegie Hall performance also follows the release of Green Park, Edelman’s new studio album released through Cherry Red Records, adding another chapter to a career that continues to evolve rather than simply look backward.
Throughout 2026, Edelman has brought American Original to audiences through a series of New York performances, including appearances at the Bellmore Theatre, Stonewall Inn and Triad Theatre. The December 19 concert now brings the show back to one of the world’s most famous stages.
For Edelman, it is also something of a return to the beginning.
Before the movie screens, orchestral scores and Hollywood credits, there was a songwriter sitting at a piano. On December 19, Carnegie Hall audiences will once again experience Edelman’s music in its most direct form — one man, one piano, and a lifetime of songs and stories.
