Sharon Osbourne cancelled her talk show tour at the last minute yesterday (April 22) due to an unknown “family issue”.
The music mogul, who manages her husband Ozzy, was set to begin a run of dates – dubbed ‘Cut The Crap’ – in Stockholm, Sweden last night. Further dates had been scheduled in Helsinki, Oslo and Copenhagen.
However, the full tour has now been scrapped. Oslo theatre Folketeateret cited a “family issue” that had caused the cancellation, per Metro. Further details are not yet known, and Sharon hasn’t commented. Her spokesperson reportedly said they were unsure as to why the gigs had been axed at such late notice.
Sharon’s ‘Cut The Crap’ show, which previously visited the UK, sees her “live and uncensored on stage”.
Per an official description, it deals with “some of the hardest years of [Sharon’s] eventful life – from the anguish of a broken marriage and heavy metal icon husband Ozzy’s infidelities to the constant spectre of drug abuse in her family, the loss of friends, betrayal by colleagues, and her ongoing battles with mental health issues.”
The cancellations come after Ozzy recently revealed that he was “in heavy training” for Black Sabbath’s final-ever concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park this summer.
Speaking on SiriusXM (via Loudwire), opened up about his preparations for the huge gig following multiple surgeries and health issues – including Parkinson’s.
“I haven’t done anything for, jeez, it’s gonna be seven years,” Ozzy explained. “I’ve been through all these surgeries. It really is like starting from scratch.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that Ozzy was back in the gym in the run-up to the last-ever Black Sabbath concert.
His longtime collaborator and guitarist, Zakk Wylde, has since teased that the Prince Of Darkness may perform from a “throne that flies over the stadium” at the historic event. Earlier, Ozzy told fans that he would only be “doing little bits and pieces” with Sabbath at Villa Park amid his health issues. “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable,” he said.
“I am trying to get back on my feet. When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”
This came after Ozzy revealed that he now “can’t walk” as a result of Parkinson’s, but Sharon has assured fans that his illness “doesn’t affect his voice”.
When speaking to NME alongside Tony Iommi at Villa Park in February, Sharon said her husband was doing “really great” at the time. She told us that Ozzy was feeling “very emotional” about the last Sabbath show, and that it was “what he wants”.
“He wants to say thank you to everybody,” Sharon told NME. “He didn’t have that chance because of his illness, but now he does have the chance.”
Speaking further about Ozzy’s health, she added: “He’s got Parkinson’s, which we all know, but he’s great and it doesn’t affect his voice.” Iommi then told NME that the Sabbath show would “do him good”, explaining: “That’s what it’s all about: he wants to get out and do something.”
Sharon went on: “He feels like he’s never had a chance to thank the fans; to say ‘thank you for this unbelievable life.’”
Elsewhere in NME‘s interview, Sharon said that the concert would be “just about celebrating the old music that still lives on” rather than Black Sabbath releasing any new music to coincide with the date.
“You get to a stage in your career where whatever you do just doesn’t stand up to what you did before,” she told NME. “To be able to rest on your laurels and say, ‘People still love that and it’s still selling and we can’t do better than what we’ve done’, that’s enough.
“This is a celebration – of the genre and the pioneers who started it and passed it on to all these bands. Usually this thing is done when you’re dead – so it’s nice that these guys can be alive to be appreciated!”
Iommi commented: “I was just thinking that! We’re having it before we go now.”
Dubbed ‘Back To The Beginning’, the final Sabbath date boasts a massive, star-studded line-up. This includes the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan, Slash and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, and KoRn.
Tom Morello will be performing and serving as the gig’s musical director, and has said he is “honoured” to take on the role. Guns N’ Roses, Tool and more joined the line-up earlier this year. Meanwhile, Morello has teased some “huge superstars” as “surprises” for the Birmingham show.
In other news, Sharon Osbourne has called for a “revocation of Kneecap’s work visa” after she claims their performance at Coachella 2025 “compromised” the festival’s “moral and spiritual integrity”. It followed the Irish group’s pro-Palestinian messages and chants at the event.
