Dan Bongino, a fervent supporter of Donald Trump who worked as a weekend program presenter on Fox News after making several appearances on the network, is no longer employed by the publication.
According to Bongino, who hosted Unfiltered and Fox Nation’s Canceled in the USA, contract discussions broke down, forcing him to leave Fox. In a statement to Forbes, which broke the story, the network confirmed the departure and said, “We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
On his most recent podcast, Bongino made an announcement about leaving the network, telling his listeners that “regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News Channel.”
“Last week’s program finale was difficult. I assure you that it is not a huge conspiracy theory. There is no animosity…Simply put, we were unable to agree on an extension. That’s truly it,” according to Bongino. “I had a great time there. For 10 years, they were helpful to me. Sad day today. I don’t want you to believe they gave me the option to do one final concert, but they did. That’s my fault, not theirs, yet I decided to proceed in this manner for the time being.”

This weekend, Fox News personality Lawrence Jones will fill in for Bongino, and the network will reveal a long-term successor in the following weeks. In response to the publicity surrounding Fox News after the $787.5 million defamation settlement with Dominion Voting Systems, Bongino acknowledged that “the timing’s not great” for the news.
