    Authorities Say Gunman in SoCal Church Attack is Chinese Immigrant Motivated by Hate For Taiwanese

    Orange County, CA – As TGP’s Kristinn Taylor reported, the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods was the target of a mass shooting Sunday afternoon with five wounded, one person killed and a suspect in custody.

    On Sunday it was reported that a large portion of the parishioners were Taiwanese.

    The shooter, 68-year-old David Chou of Las Vegas, was booked on one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder.

    According to authorities, David Chou is a Chinese immigrant motivated by hate for Taiwanese.

    AP reported:

    The Orange County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the identity of the suspected gunman responsible for a shooting that ended with one person dead.

    The Orange County Sheriff’s Department tweeted that 68-year-old David Chou of Las Vegas has been booked on investigation of one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder.

    Police say Chou was a Chinese immigrant motivated by hate for Taiwanese people.

    The shooting killed John Cheng and injured five others at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, California.
