Several prominent figures in the Democrat party took time over the weekend to knock President Joe Biden for his failed policies regarding illegal immigration.

It is a continued sign that some members of the President’s party are starting to peel off from supporting relentless open border policies that are decimating their cities and states.

Criticism from the left on illegal immigration comes as polling shows Biden’s approval rating amongst voters continuing to reach new lows.

A Pew Research Center poll released late last week shows the President with a meager 33% approval rating. At the same time, the firm notes “large majorities of Americans express little or no confidence in Biden’s ability to handle a number of issues, including economic and immigration policy.”

Just 32% expressed confidence that Biden is capable of making wise decisions about illegal immigration policy, a 21-point drop since 2021. During that same timeframe, Democrats who are confident in Biden’s handling of this issue have dropped a massive 26%.

Biden’s Illegal Immigration Policies Have Fellow Democrats Riled Up

Whether Democrats are seeing a major issue when it comes to polling with American voters and reacting for a political advantage, or if they’re just now waking up to the realities illegal immigration has on their constituents is up for debate.

But their criticism of President Biden on the matter is growing ever louder.

Somehow we live in a universe where Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has become a voice of reason on the matter, calling out his own party on illegal immigration. In fact, he managed to disarm them on one of the party’s key talking points – concerns about border security allegedly being racist.

“I hope Democrats can understand that it isn’t xenophobic to be concerned about the border. It’s a reasonable conversation, and Democrats should engage,” he insisted.

Fetterman went on to eschew the concept that he is a progressive and commented on numbers proving that the White House is struggling to curtail illegal immigration.

“It’s a reasonable conversation – until somebody can say there’s an explanation on what we can do when 270,000 people are being encountered on the border, not including the ones, of course, that we don’t know,” he told NBC News.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D) demanded a $512 million reimbursement for border security and criticized the administration for failing to secure the border after issuing an Executive Order deploying the AZ National Guard.

“Yet again, the federal government is refusing to do its job to secure our border and keep our communities safe,” said Hobbs. “With this Executive Order, I am taking action where the federal government won’t.”

And New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who has been vocal about Biden’s failures on illegal immigration only after they started being bussed into his city, renewed his criticisms over the weekend.

In a recent interview, he called out the Biden administration and the federal government over its “baffling” inability to address the crisis.

His continued criticism comes as it has been revealed that over 67,000 illegal aliens are living in the city’s shelter system, over triple the 21,300 at the same time last year.

Adams had, prior to this latest report, predicted that illegal immigrants were going to “destroy” New York City.

Criticism of President Biden over his border crisis didn’t stop there. Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) also expressed concern about the ongoing crisis at the border and suggested that the President should visit the area to see the situation firsthand.

Kelly joined former Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) in writing a letter to Biden supporting Hobbs’ calls for reimbursement of funds used on securing the border.

Sen. Mark Kelly, Democrat of AZ, on if Biden should visit the border: “Well I think in general it’s good to see things in the first hand, he does have a staff that’s been working on this issue. But this remains a crisis.”

Over the weekend, Hobbs called the situation at the border “chaos” and said she’s “not afraid to stand up to politicians on either side who aren’t doing what’s in the best interest of Arizona.”

Ramped-up criticism of the President for his inaction on the illegal immigration crisis in this country comes as Mexican authorities seized 10 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in an area just south of Tucson, Arizona.

U.S. officials are now warning Border Patrol agents to watch out for IEDs — improvised explosive devices — according to an internal memo.

An internal memo issued by CBP and obtained by Fox Business warned agents to “exercise extreme caution” and “report any possible armed subjects approaching the border with possible explosive devices.”

Illegal daily border crossings are consistently topping 10,000 per day — a stunning number regardless of what party affiliation is associated with the observer.
