MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: Defund the Department of Justice

MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: Defund the Department of Justice

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene called to defund the Department of Justice (DOJ) after a top official dodged questions surrounding Hunter Biden at a recent hearing.

Greene tweeted the sentiment along with a video of an exchange between Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew Olsen.

Gaetz repeatedly grilled Olsen about the President’s son.

“Is Hunter Biden a national security threat?” he asked.

“That’s not a question that would come before me,” Olsen replied.

Gaetz countered, “You’re the head of the National Security division, so it seems sort of on the nose.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls to Defund the Department of Justice

Gaetz continued to press Olsen on Hunter Biden, specifically asking where his laptop currently resides.

“I’m not going to talk about any potential, ongoing investigations as I sit here,” Olsen answered.

The Florida Republican later tweeted that the National Security head had “accidentally” confirmed an investigation into Hunter’s business practices and laptop.

Previous reporting had already confirmed the ongoing investigation, with CNN noting last week that it had reached a “critical juncture.”

Greene (R-GA) shared the exchange in a tweet accusing the DOJ of using the investigation status to assure “all information is sealed, and the outcome is under their control.”

“What an incredible injustice to the American people!” the congresswoman added. “Defund the DOJ!!!”

“We don’t answer questions about an ongoing investigation.”

This is the controlled fall. Claim Hunter Biden is under investigation so that all information is sealed, and the outcome is under their control.

Did the DOJ Try to Suppress Negative News on Hunter Biden?

Gaetz proceeded to accuse the National Security division of prohibiting any investigation into “derogatory” details about Hunter Biden.

A notion perhaps underscored by recent claims put forth by Senator Chuck Grassley, who cited high-ranking FBI whistleblowers who allege the bureau, along with the DOJ, suppressed negative information about the younger Biden prior to the 2020 election.

The Iowa Republican accused the FBI and DOJ of labeling factual material as misinformation as a way to shut down investigations.

“The allegations provided to my office appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation,” Grassley asserted. So far the information has not been confirmed.

This deserves at least as much attention as the one-sided Jan 6 hearing:
In October 2020, one month before the election, “an avenue of derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed” by a senior FBI agent at the bureau’s Washington Field office. https://t.co/k4ZAFtQ3wF

Gaetz hammered Olsen on the allegations from the whistleblowers.

“Don’t you see that that degrades the country’s belief in you guys when you have whistleblowers saying that you’re purposely rat-holing this information and then you come here and say you won’t talk about it?” Gaetz asked.

The GOP congressman pointed out that the DOJ has little trouble discussing “parents at school board meetings as a national security threat” but can’t do so when it comes to Hunter Biden.

The Department of Justice has a rather large umbrella that encompasses agencies like the ATF, Antitrust, DEA, FBI, and more.

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
