National Association Of Hispanic Journalists Slams Jill Biden After She Compares Hispanics To ‘Breakfast Tacos’

National Association Of Hispanic Journalists Slams Jill Biden After She Compares Hispanics To ‘Breakfast Tacos’

Jill Biden was criticized by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) for engaging in ‘stereotypes’ after the First Lady claimed the Hispanic community is as “unique” as “breakfast tacos.”

Biden made the comments during an appearance at a “LatinX IncluXion” luncheon in San Antonio on Monday.

She noted the efforts of Raul Yzaguirre, former United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, in serving as President of UnidosUS, who was hosting the annual conference.

In the process, Dr. Biden also managed to murder the word ‘bodegas,’ mispronouncing it in Biden-esque fashion as ‘bogedas.’

“Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community, as distinct as the bogedas (sic) of The Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio, is your strength,” she said.

Once again, Dr. Jill Biden butchers the Spanish language in furtherance of pandering to a client constituency (the org FKA National Council of La Raza). I hereby bless your timelines with Dr. Jill’s rendering of “bodega”. pic.twitter.com/Z4FSXtlUMe

Jill Biden Slammed For Comparing Hispanics to ‘Breakfast Tacos’

The NAHJ issued a statement on social media encouraging First Lady Jill Biden to better understand the complexity of Hispanic communities rather than reducing them to a stereotype.

“We are not tacos,” they write.

“Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by various diasporas, cultures [and] food traditions,” the group continues. “Do not reduce us to stereotypes.”

“Using breakfast tacos to try to demonstrate the uniqueness of Latinos in San Antonio demonstrates a lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity of Latinos in the region,” the group added in a statement about Jill Biden’s comments.

“Mexicans are as unique as breakfast tacos.”

Good lord. (And don’t get me started on her pronunciation of ‘bodegas.’)

If you’re wondering why the Democratic Party is hemorrhaging Hispanic voters, this is part of the reason. https://t.co/2WZ5nGGqQB

    Hispanic Voters Sour on Biden

Jill Biden’s ‘breakfast tacos’ gaffe – and it will almost certainly be referred to as such by the media even though it was part of her prepared remarks – comes as President Biden and the Democrat Party have struggled to appeal to Hispanic voters.

According to the latest Quinnipiac University poll, just 26% of Hispanics approve of President Joe Biden’s job performance, while a staggering 60% disapprove.

Perhaps putting Jill Biden out on the trail to equate Hispanics to “breakfast tacos” will improve the situation, but we suspect there might be some issues. Regardless, the Bidens are most likely pleased with their efforts and are ever-optimistic.

Or, as Jill might say, “Si Se Pwodway!”

There was a time when supporters of the First Lady were livid when Jill Biden’s title of ‘doctor’ was mocked. Yet she continues to make a fool of herself, pandering to Hispanics by mispronouncing words and comparing them to ‘breakfast tacos.’

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson took a sledgehammer to Mrs. Biden’s doctorate degree, saying she is no more an actual doctor than Bill Cosby or Dr. Pepper.

Tucker: “Dr. Jill Biden has the very same degree as Dr. Bill Cosby does— which is one degree from Dr. Pepper.”

    — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) December 15, 2020

“Jill Biden is not a doctor, no. Maybe in the same sense Dr. Pepper is,” Carlson quipped in a past segment. “In 2007, at the age of 55, she got a doctorate in education, so she’s got the same degree as Dr. Bill Cosby.”

While Jill is discussing ‘breakfast tacos,’ Joe is trying to pander to the Hispanic community by playing the Spanish-language song “Despacito” during speeches.

    — Steve Cortes (@CortesSteve) September 16, 2020

One has to wonder if Jill Biden will receive the same amount of criticism from the press that former President Donald Trump did for his famous Cinco De Mayo post in 2016 which featured him eating one of the “best taco bowls” before declaring “I love Hispanics!”

Jill Biden has since apologized for the comments.

The First Lady apologizes that her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community.
