Liberals constantly accuse the United States of having a problem with systemic racism.
Yet when it comes to black conservatives, they feel free to use incredibly racist insults. We have seen it with Justice Clarence Thomas, talk host Larry Elder, Dr. Ben Carson and many others.
Rep. Burgess Owens of Utah recently used some of his time in Congress to call out the left for this despicable behavior.
Breitbart News reports:
Rep. Burgess Owens Slams Left’s ‘Racist Attacks,’ Says Justice Clarence Thomas ‘Should Be Revered, Not Ridiculed’
The “hard left” encourages “racism, inequality, [and] inequity,” according to Utah Rep. Burgess Owens, who condemned the “racist attacks” and violence unleashed by the left following the overturning of Roe, including the “racially charged firestorm against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas,” who he said should be “revered, not ridiculed.”
Speaking at the House Judiciary Committee’s hearing on privacy and civil rights in post-Roe America on Thursday, Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) joined the “eloquent defense of life” offered by many of his Republican colleagues, as he called to “recognize the sanctity of all life.”
Describing himself as “having grown up in the Jim Crow South of segregation and KKK,” Owens said he was “familiar with the true racism, intolerance, and hate — all due to the color of my skin.”
“I see the same thing today in 2022 as the hard left, the so-called party of tolerance, who bang the drum of racism, inequality, inequity, do not practice what they preach,” he said.

Owens has been highlighting the experiences of various black Americans throughout history on his Twitter timeline:
Ida B. Wells was an investigative journalist in the late 1800s and early 1900s who was a prominent anti-lynching advocate. Her work battling racism and sexism throughout her life is an inspiration and should not be lost in our history. She was born on this date in 1962. pic.twitter.com/tDf3IYZ1Cj

Biddy Mason was born into slavery in 1818. She developed skills in nursing. When a CA court granted her freedom in 1856 she became a sought after midwife, delivering 100’s of babies. She invested her earnings in land & amassed a fortune that almost entirely went toward the needy. pic.twitter.com/T675fImpkp

The Revolutionary War had about 9000 black Patriots, including the first martyr Crispus Attucks. As groups try to paint Independence Day as racist, they negate the sacrifice of many black Patriots who helped put the wheels in motion for the freedom we all enjoy today. pic.twitter.com/xucwWh0zJv

Burgess Owens is an excellent addition to Congress.
The people of Utah made the right decision in electing him.
