‘Sanctuary City’ Los Angeles Will Sue Texas For Sending Them Illegal Immigrants

The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to pursue a criminal investigation and lawsuit against Texas for sending illegal immigrants to their city.

The move comes less than three months after that same city council proudly declared themselves to be a sanctuary for illegal aliens.

It also comes on the same day Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s bussing program, which sends illegal aliens to jurisdictions claiming to be a sanctuary dropped off 42 individuals to Los Angeles.

All told, the City of Angels has seen a total of 435 illegal aliens enter their city since June. That’s right, a mere 435 illegal aliens prompted the council to set their hair on fire and accuse Texas of being the actual criminals.

Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, who serves District 13, touted the vote and called Abbott’s actions “racist.”

“The competition between these Republican governors about who could be more racist, I think, is just an utter failure and shows clearly that they do not have any intention to govern effectively,” he said.

“The callous(ness) and disregard for lives of these families deserves their full investigation and accountability into the criminal actions of wrongdoing of Gov. Greg Abbott,” Soto-Martinez added.

Soto-Martinez’s astounding ignorance was on full display prior to the vote when he suggested the criminal probe should look into kidnapping and human trafficking charges against Abbott.

“These motions are about investigating whether Gov. Greg Abbott committed kidnapping, human trafficking or any other crimes when he sent vulnerable families on a 23-hour bus ride with little or no food or water,” he fumed.

It’s going to be super-awkward when he finds out California Governor Gavin Newsom once shipped homeless people out of San Francisco when he was mayor there, using “one-way” bus tickets.

Shouldn’t They be Excited About Their New Residents?

In June, the Los Angeles City Council voted to become a sanctuary city and prohibit city resources from being used to aid the federal government in enforcing the law.

“For many people in Los Angeles who have been advocating for the city to become an official sanctuary city for many years, this is a long overdue process,” said District 4 Councilwoman Nithya Raman.

“A significant number of residents in Los Angeles live in fear of being apprehended, detained and deported by federal immigration authorities,” she added.

So why would the council turn around in a fit of anger and pursue criminal charges against Texas? They should be thanking Abbott and his administration for sending them to a place where they no longer fear being apprehended.

But wait, the L.A. City Council proclaimed itself a “sanctuary city.” Un-ending hordes of illegals swarming into Los Angeles is exactly what they asked for… https://t.co/4e8g9fyYHJ pic.twitter.com/qcSU80uXnF

Abbott spokesperson Andrew Mahaleris called the Los Angeles City Council “hypocrites.”

“The L.A. City Council members are complete hypocrites. In June, they unanimously voted to become a sanctuary city, welcoming migrants to the city,” he told the Los Angeles Times.

Mahaleris went on to claim the criminal probe is moot because the illegal immigrants “signed a voluntary consent waiver available in multiple languages upon boarding that they agreed on the destination.”

They were probably thrilled to go to a wealthy city that cares more about criminals than their own citizens. And now the council is proving they don’t really want them there.
