White House Calls a Lid Before Noon as Biden Takes Another Delaware Beach Vacation While Baby Formula Shortage Gets Worse! (Ten States and 14 Major Metro Areas Short 90% or more)

The White House called a lid before noon Friday, indicating Joe Biden will not be seen or heard for the rest of the day as he takes a long weekend vacation at his beach home in Rehoboth beach, Delaware to celebrate Jill Biden’s 71st birthday. Biden gave brief remarks earlier Friday on the monthly jobs report. Biden is taking a long weekend off even though the baby formula shortage is getting worse despite his slow-to-react efforts in recent weeks. Ten states and fourteen major metropolitan areas are over 90 percent short with Georgia the worse off state at 94 percent short and Atlanta and Sacramento, California leading cities at 94.6 percent short, reported Bloomberg Thursday.

Daily Mail reporter Emily Goodin relayed the pool report on the lid being called, “WH call a lid, per pooler @catherine_lucey, with POTUS in Rehoboth Beach for weekend. Today is FLOTUS’ 71st bday Dr. Biden is spending bday weekend with POTUS ‘and one of her sisters. She’s hoping to get in a bike ride or two and enjoy being with her family,’ East Wing tells me”

Bloomberg reported Thursday afternoon the baby formula shortage is getting worse with the supply shortage now up to 74 percent nationally with one in five states short ninety percent.

    Bloomberg excerpt:

The baby formula shortage continued to worsen last week despite actions from the Biden administration to ease constraints, according to retail tracking data.

Out-of-stock rates climbed to 74% nationally for the week ending May 28, according to data on 130,000 stores followed by Datasembly. The increase comes after rates spiked to 70% for the week ending May 21 from 45% the week prior.

Ten states now have out-of-stock rates at 90% or greater, including Arizona, Mississippi, California, Nevada, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Louisiana, Florida and Washington. Georgia is the hardest hit at 94%, a jump from 74% the week before.

…There are now 14 metro areas with out-of-stock rates at 90% or greater including Atlanta, Phoenix, San Antonio, Oahu, Houston, Memphis, Jacksonville, Orlando, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami and New Orleans/Mobile, with Sacramento hardest hit at 95%.

The Washington Examiner reported Thursday that Biden is on track to take a record number of vacation days as president, having already taken 188 days.

    Excerpt:

…Ahead of this weekend’s trip, Biden has spent an estimated 188 full or partial days away from the White House, with 130 spent at his Delaware properties, 52 at Camp David, and six in Nantucket.

If that pace holds, Biden will spend roughly 553 days away from the White House, which he has referred to as a “gilded cage,” over his first term, or 1,106 days over two terms.

That’s good for tops in the modern history of the presidency…

Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs reported Biden ignored shouted questions as he left the White House Thursday night for Delaware.
