CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson are publishing a hard-hitting book analyzing former President Joe Biden’s mental decline and the cover-up involved behind the scenes to keep it quiet.

Despite years of evidence that Biden’s cognitive ability was severely hindered even in the earliest days of his presidency, (and some might say, since the moment he stepped into public life, but that’s another story) Tapper and Thompson have somehow just gotten around to examining the issue in depth here in 2025.

Now that Biden is out of office and no one can be held accountable, it’s “safe” to do the journalism that should have been done starting in 2019.

Penguin Random House announced the publication date of “Original Sin ” as May 20th.

“From two of America’s most respected journalists,” they claim without evidence. “An unflinching and explosive reckoning with one of the most fateful decisions in American political history: Joe Biden’s run for reelection despite evidence of his serious decline—amid desperate efforts to hide the extent of that deterioration.”

Glad to see a prominent CNN anchor finally admitting Joe Biden was a dementia-addled empty suit who should never have been in charge of this country.

Jake Tapper Appears Ready To Finally Admit Joe Biden Was Cognitively Impaired

It is complete media malpractice by Jake Tapper and Thompson to suddenly decide the cognitive decline of the President of the United States is a newsworthy topic.

There is even an admission that it was clear Biden’s mental acuity was compromised “for years,” and all came to a head during the fateful debate over the summer with President Trump.

You know, the one where Biden went on a meandering monologue about God knows what and ended his thoughts with, “We finally beat Medicare.”

Trump would later quip, “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence, and I don’t think he knows what he said either.”

Biden: “Making sure we make every single solitary person eligible for what I’ve been able to do with covid, excuse me, with umm dealing with everything we had to deal with. Look, we finally beat medicare.”

Trump: “Well he’s right. He did beat medicaid. Beat it to death.” pic.twitter.com/FL152ERLiR

Tapper and Thompson say the famous debate wasn’t a one-off, even though CNN and Axios tried to report otherwise during the campaign.

“What the world saw at Joe Biden’s one and only debate was not an anomaly,” they write. “It was the natural result of an eighty-one-year-old man whose faculties had been diminishing for years.”

They Were Part Of The Cover-Up

It is super-rich that these so-called journalists are attacking the cover-up from the previous White House in trying to hide Joe Biden’s mental decline as if they weren’t part of the cover-up.

“Biden, his family, and his team let their self-interest and fear of another Trump term justify trying to put an at times addled old man in the Oval Office for four more years.”

What about the media’s self-interests, oh, dinosaur media personalities? Why did they try to keep Trump out of office by lying about Biden’s condition repeatedly?

Tapper, in a 2020 interview on CNN’s State of the Union, attacked Lara Trump after she suggested that Biden was experiencing “cognitive decline” and struggled on stage.

Seems like a good time to remind everyone that in 2020 Jake Tapper, first, accused me of making fun of people with a stutter (an atrocious accusation) and then attempted to shut me down and ended our interview when I tried to warn people of Joe Biden’s very obvious cognitive… pic.twitter.com/ZOxSGQP13J

Tapper accused her of mocking Biden’s pretend stutter rather than providing evidence of mental deterioration, saying, “I think you were mocking his stutter, and I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline.”

Guess what, Jake? You have absolutely no standing to cover the very real, very obvious cognitive decline you helped hide for years. Take that new book and take a long walk off a short pier.
