Set for release in Q4 2022, SEGA’s Sonic Frontiers will have players accelerating to new heights and experiencing the thrill of high velocity open-zone freedom, unlike any of the previous games. You’ll fight powerful enemies as you speed through the Starfall Islands, which includes landscapes filled with dense forests, overflowing waterfalls, sizzling deserts and more.
This 3D platformer and action-adventure is the first Sonic game to boast an open world. The anthropomorphic blue hedgehog retains his abilities from previous games as he can still run at high speeds, collect rings, and grind on rails. Gameplay combines Sonic’s traditional abilities with combat for an experience unlike any other in the series. It will be released on the PlayStation 4 / 5, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms. For something a bit slower-paced, Sonic the Hedgehog in Minecraft is a good alternative.
