Bachelor Ben Higgins and wife Jess Clarke opened up recently on the Almost Famous Podcast to talk about their journey to become parents. They also revealed how Ben found out about the baby. Ben Higgins, Jess Clarke Talked Pregnancy & Having A Girl
Former Bachelor Ben Higgins and his wife Jess Clarke are opening up more about their first baby. Jess shared the moment she knew she was pregnant and how she told Ben. They talked about her pregnancy on the Almost Famous podcast.
Jess revealed that she and Ben were actually referred to a fertility clinic to be evaluated. She said, “We were referred to a fertility clinic by my doctor because I wasn’t ovulating regularly… We did IUI, which is the step before IVF… It took us one try of IUI, so when it comes to fertility journeys we got really, really lucky.”
Then, Jess shared how she found out she was expecting and how she told her husband. She said she woke up early at 4 am and was very excited to take a pregnancy test. Her gut was telling her she was going to find it positive.
Jess stared at the test for what she said was two hours. When she heard Ben starting to wake up she sent their dog Waylon upstairs wearing a bandana that said big brother.
Jess thinks that Ben will be the best girl dad ever. She said, “I think you’re going to love her and encourage her and tell her she’s beautiful. And I know the way that you make me feel and I just can’t imagine the way you’re going to make our daughter feel. Just like so wrapped in love.”
Ben thinks his emotions are more in tune with being a girl dad.
They Told Their Parents In A Special Way
Ben Higgins and Jess Clarke used Father’s Day to tell their parents about being grandparents. Since her parents do not live near them she sent her dad a digital picture frame that she had the activation code to. She is able to upload photos from Colorado so when she had him on Facetime she uploaded a photo of her pregnancy test.
Her whole family was there to find out the news.
As for Ben’s dad, they gave him a card that said the best dads are promoted to grandpas. He knew right away they were trying to tell him something.
Ben and Jess are very excited to welcome their daughter to the world early next year.
