Duck Dynasty fans were thrilled for the reboot to premiere this month. Yet, they were also devastated to learn that Phil Robertson had passed away. With all the fanfare, Willie Robertson’s store picked up momentum, but it is not all that it is cracked up to be. So, what is wrong with it? Keep reading for more details.
Fans Slam Willie Robertson’s Store, Stay Away
Shortly before the premiere of the Duck Dynasty reboot, Phil Robertson sadly passed away. His health had been declining for some time, and he would not be on the reboot. Rather, the focus would be elsewhere, but learning the patriarch had died stung diehard fans of the show. They were saddened for the family and the loss that they had just endured. Despite that, the show must go on, and fans wanted to get up close and personal with the Robertsons. Fortunately, Willie Robertson has his own store, Duck Commander, located in West Monroe, Louisiana.
This is the perfect time to swing by, given that the hit reality series has returned. However, many stopped into Duck Commander and were less than impressed. DC boasts a store, museum, tour, plus other various family businesses. This is the perfect stop for viewers who want to feel close to the family, but it is being slammed. Now, Willie has lessened his involvement with the store, but it should still be up to par. Sadly, customers have claimed the stuff offered is “cheap,” which has steered them away.
They have a spiffy new sign with the hopes that Duck Dynasty fans will stop by and check out their offerings. However, the reviews warn customers to stay away:
- Buyer Beware… Love the show and the family so of course we had to stop at the store on our way through town. I bought my son a hat and my daughter a shirt. When we got home from Spring Break, I washed the shirt and a lot of the brown paint came off the duck. I called the store and they told me to email customer service, which I did.
A Lot Of Disappointment
Duck Dynasty lovers felt that Duck Commander should offer higher quality merch so this would not be an issue. They also appeared to expect a lot more than they got, given that they had high hopes by swinging by. Others stated that they were unimpressed by the store and had hoped for more:
- Just stopped in because we were in the area. Our kids used to love the show. Didn’t take the tour so maybe we should have, but the store was not very impressive. Not sure what I expected but definitely something more.
- Big disappointment! Used to be a cool place to stop and stretch your legs but it’s not what it used to be. Don’t waste your time
It was also stated to be a lot smaller than it appears on television and in photos. At the same time, others genuinely appreciated Duck Commander and had a lot of fun there:
- Absolutely loved the store and the self guided tour of the Robertson family history
- Ive been wanting to go back! We went when Willies Duck Diner was there. Time for another visit!
