Today hosts Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin delighted fans by reuniting for a very special occasion. They shared photos of the unexpected reunion. Stay on this page for all the details.
Hoda Kotb Shares Life Update After Leaving Today
It’s been nearly a year since Hoda Kotb left the Today Show to spend more time with her children. Her final air date as permanent co-anchor was in January 2025. She’s returned several times since then for special interviews or to join Jenna Bush Hager on Jenna & Friends.

Hoda Kotb shares two children with her former fiancé, Joel Schiffman. The two ended their engagement in 2022 but continue to co-parent. The former Today host opened up to PEOPLE magazine recently about what her life is like now.
“It’s been super fun. I mean to kind of have control of your own schedule, which is real weird. I didn’t actually know how I would do. But something happened where like everything’s in slow motion now,” she told the outlet.
Hoda Kotb added, “When I sit with my kids, it’s slow, everything’s kind of slowed down. I used to be like, ‘Shoes off. OK, come on, we’re late.’ All I said was, ‘We’re late, eat that, go to bed.’ Like those were my phrases, and now it’s like we’re sitting, we’re breathing together — like we’re just having moments. I love the rhythm.”
Her beloved children were there for her recent reunion with former co-hosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin.

Hoda Kotb, Al Roker & Craig Melvin Together Again For Special Occasion
Hoda Kotb’s two children are so close to Today anchor Al Roker that they call him “Uncle Al.” The Roker and Kotb families reunited over the New Year’s Eve holiday for a special occasion. And they were joined by Craig Melvin, who replaced Hoda Kotb on the morning news show.
The current and former Today hosts reunited in Pasadena, California, for this year’s Rose Parade. The annual event, held on January 1, precedes the Rose Bowl college football game. Hoda Kotb gushed earlier this week about reuniting with Al Roker.
They co-hosted the parade together on NBC for many years. This year, Craig Melvin joins them for the first time. Since they were all in California anyway, they spent New Year’s Eve together. Their families joined them for the celebration to welcome in the new year.

Craig Melvin’s wife, Lindsay Czarniak, and their two children were there, along with Hoda Kotb’s two daughters, Haley and Hope. Al Roker was joined by his wife, ABC’s Deborah Roberts, and their son, Nick. Al Roker took to social media to share snapshots from the fun night.
“What a great way to start #2026 with @hodakotb and her girls and @craigmelvinnbc and @lindsaycz and their kids. Another fantastic #newyearseve dinner at @bistro45pasadena to fortify us for hosting the 137th @rose_parade on @nbc,” he wrote in a caption of a carousel of pictures from the event.
Today fans were so happy to see the three hosts back together again. They will reunite again for NBC’s coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics in February.
