Forever Young: A Grammy Salute to Rod Stewart

Do ya still think he’s sexy? At 81, Rod Stewart continues to rock out to adoring audiences, as this two-hour concert special demonstrates, getting up close and personal and going backstage with Stewart during his ongoing One Last Time tour. Filmed in Miami, the special includes archival and behind-the-scenes footage to paint a profile of the tireless Grammy winner (for 2005’s Traditional Pop Vocal Album “Stardust”) and two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    In the City

The camera never rests on some reality TV stars. The latest spinoff of the Summer House franchise follows cast members as they return to their daily lives in New York City in the fall after spending their summer in the Hamptons. Following the Season 10 finale of Summer House (8/7c), the City spinoff picks up where the original series leaves off, with a particular focus on the dissolution of the marriage between Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, whose post-separation romance with West Wilson figures into their storyline.

    Wanda Sykes: Legacy

The outspoken Wanda Sykes isn’t shy about schooling her many comic targets. In her third stand-up special for Netflix, she returns to school: her alma mater of Hampton University, which welcomes her back with a marching band and a rousing ovation from the student body. “Once I got to campus, the school went nuts,” she says. “It was a great weekend. It turned out to be everything that I wanted it to be.” As a pioneering Black female comedian, Sykes has a legacy to be proud of. This topical set of no-holds-barred barbs reminds us why.

    The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch

Ranch owner Brandon Fugal and his team of scientists and paranormal researchers have spent years exploring the mysteries of the 512-acre Utah property, said to be a “hotspot for high strangeness” of possibly extraterrestrial origin. The investigation continues into a seventh season, which opens with the team testing ceramic materials extracted from the mesa, firing extreme heat above the Triangle, and triggering phenomena in the sky that will surely fuel new questions if not any concrete answers.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

Without Jon Stewart, we might not have had Stephen Colbert as a force in late-night TV. Colbert’s former The Daily Show colleague, and one-time lead-in to his iconic The Colbert Report, shows up to support his friend in his final week on CBS. Colbert also plays host to a Hollywood legend, director Steven Spielberg, and performs with David Byrne. He may not be able to top last week’s rooftop stunt with David Letterman, but he’s not slowing down.

    INSIDE TUESDAY TV:

    • NBA Eastern Conference Finals (8 pm/ET, ESPN): The series opens with the Cleveland Cavaliers in New York to take on the Knicks.
    • R.J. Decker (8/7c, ABC): In case you missed the series this spring, ABC is repeating the shaggy-dog procedural from the beginning with the first three episodes, starring Scott Speedman as Carl Hiaasen’s hero, an ex-con photographer in South Florida who becomes an unorthodox and affable private detective.
    • Baylen Out Loud (9/8c, TLC): The reality series’ third season opens with Baylen Dupree, a vivacious woman who doesn’t let her extreme condition of Tourette’s Syndrome slow her down, planning her wedding to Colin Dooley with joint bachelor and bachelorette parties.
    • Bear Grylls Is Running Wild (9/8c, Fox): Actress Michelle Monaghan takes on what would be a “mission impossible” for many: keeping up with the naturalist as they trek through the Great Basin Desert.
    • E.B. Du Bois: Rebel With a Cause (9/8c, PBS): Viola Davis narrates American Masters‘ biographical documentary profile of the activist writer, with dramatic readings of his works by Common, Courtney B. Vance, and Jeffrey Wright.
    • US. Against the World (9/8c, HBO): The soccer docuseries depicts the turmoil among the U.S. Men’s National Team after the firing of coach Gregg Berhalter in 2024.
    • Soccer’s American Dream (10/9c, Vice TV): The focus in this historical soccer docuseries turns to the formation of the U.S. Women’s National Team in the late 1980s.
    • The Nightmare Upstairs (streaming on Hulu): A two-part special depicts the social-media furor that erupted when Utah siblings Ty and Bryn Larson barricaded themselves in a room in their mother’s home for 54 days during a custody dispute, livestreaming their dilemma on TikTok and igniting a debate about the state’s family court system.
