Stassi Schroeder ‘Ghosted’ Katie Maloney, Resolved Issues Filming

Stassi Schroeder fully admits that she ghosted former bestie and Vanderpump Rules co-star Katie Maloney. However, they only resolved their issues in order to film House of Stassi, which premieres on July 29th. Keep reading for more details on how they came back together.

Stassi Schroeder ‘Ghosted’ Katie For Years

During the run of Vanderpump Rules, Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder had a rough friendship. Many of their co-stars initially felt that Katie was under Stassi’s spell and that she controlled everyone. Moreover, they thought Katie was a better person when she was not around Stassi. They did not speak from the end of Season 3 through most of Season 4. Then, they reconciled and appeared to be thick as thieves afterward. Stassi was then let go from VPR after Season 8, got married, and had a baby. As for Katie, she got divorced from Tom Schwartz, and they were on very different paths.

In the new series, House of Stassi, the two ladies reunite and hash out all of their issues. However, as Stassi explains, she had previously “ghosted” Katie when they had a blowout a few years prior:

“We did have a bit of a falling out a couple of years ago, and that was a moment where I actually chose to ghost because I didn’t want to blow up a friendship.”

Thanks to the new Hulu/Freeform show, where they would be filming together, they were forced to work out their issues. Stassi stopped and realized that she and Katie had been estranged for years, which was a bit of a problem. At the same time, neither had even mentioned that there was a fight, so something had to give:

“In terms of filming with someone who I’m used to, no one gets it like her and me. It was fun being forced to express, because reality TV forces you to express how you’re feeling. You can’t sweep things under the rug. So we were forced to really like talk about everything, and that brought us closer.”

Fans are thrilled to see Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder back on television together again. Katie was on VPR for three seasons without her bestie, but became close to her other co-stars. It was never the same.

    A New Chapter

In House of Stassi, the two women are on very different journeys. Katie Maloney is in a long-term relationship with musician Nick Martin, has a podcast, and owns a sandwich shop. Stassi Schroeder is still in the reality sphere, has two children, is an author, tours, and is still married. Now, they are coming back together in this phase of life, and fans will get to see new versions of the women. Hopefully, it will live up to everyone’s expectations.
