What Kylie Jenner Spent ‘All’ Her Money On At 17

Kylie Jenner has been a media personality, a businesswoman, and a social media influencer, among other ventures. Thanks to this, Jenner has likely seen more money in her life than most. Recently, her mother, Kris, opened up about a big financial decision her daughter made when she was still just a teenager.

Kris Jenner Recently Talked About Her Daughter, Kylie, On The Smartless Podcast

Kylie and her family were introduced to many fans through their reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. More recently, fans have been following the family on Hulu’s The Kardashians.

Outside of this, Kylie has pursued a number of other ventures. This includes her own clothing brand and cosmetic line. She is also currently one of the most followed people on Instagram.

Recently, Kylie’s mother, Kris, appeared on an episode of the “Smartless” podcast, where she sat down with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes. At the time, she shared that her daughter had business on her mind even when she was still high school-aged.

In fact, according to Kris, Kylie had the idea to launch her Kylie Cosmetics business back when she was just 17 years old. Kris shared, “She goes, ‘Mom, I know what I want to do for the rest of my life, and it’s beauty. And I want to, you know, do this lip kit, and now you’ve got to take this and run with it and figure out how to make it.’”

Kris Shared That She Was Worried At First, But Kylie Soon Proved His Business Skills

According to Kris, she made some calls and then asked her daughter about what she was thinking about for a marketing campaign. For her part, Kris suggested a billboard or a People Magazine ad. However, Kylie told her to relax.

Kris was taken aback by this. She shared, “I said, ‘I can’t relax. You just spent every dime you’ve ever made on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ to start your own brand by yourself with your own money. And I’m a little nervous. Mom’s a little… You know, you’re 17 years old, so what are you doing?’”

As noted by Page Six, in 2016, Kylie launched her Kylie Cosmetics brand with Kylie Jenner Lip Kits. Kris’ concerns were put to rest when the move proved successful, ultimately helping her daughter reach billionaire status by 2019.

Kris shared that she would never forget the morning Kylie launched her brand. She shared, “She pressed send on the link to go buy this and put a post out. ‘Go buy my Lip Kit.’”

“I think it was four seconds, and we thought the site crashed because we had to launch, and it was just sold out in seconds. And then we knew, you know. Then it was on… She was the first one to do that.”
