Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Can Now Explore Mexico In Full

Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Can Now Explore Mexico In Full

Revealed for the first time back in August, Red Dead Redemption 2 is now welcoming players back to Mexico courtesy of the Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier mod. With Mexico being one of the most iconic locations in Red Dead Redemption, it is no wonder that fans missed out on the opportunity to travel there in the sequel. However, now it has finally returned, and whilst it may not be an official expansion, it is definitely the next best thing.

Available to download on PC, Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier is free over on Nexus Mods, and with Rockstar not willing to give fans official story content DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2, it has been left in the hands of talented modder, Rixus724.

As already mentioned, Mexico is an explorable location for John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, but for Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, he can only glance at it over the water. Now, thanks to Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier, our favorite outlaw can now head over the border, but rather than completely recreate the Red Dead version, this mod has redesigned Nuevo Paraíso to predict what it could have looked like in 1907.

As the official description reads, “Explore the three regions of Nuevo Paraíso, now powered by the RDR2 Engine. From towns brought back from RDR1 to an expanded landscape featuring new wildlife and vegetation that breathe life and detail into the controversial state of Nuevo Paraíso. A wide variety of activities awaits to keep you busy as you traverse this forgotten frontier.”

With the foundations lined by conflict, government oppression, military control, and poverty, there is growing unrest in the region and, as such, the region is growing closer to civil war when you stumble across it.

However, with three regions to explore: Diez Coronas, Perdido, and Punta Orgullo, each offers its very own points of interest, buildings, wildlife, and vegetation. Additionally, Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier also restores nearby towns and settlements, with each mini-population featuring its own daily routines, activities, services, and functions.

On top of a new railroad system, new Mexican wildlife, and more, it is definitely the brand-new activities which will appeal to Red Dead Redemption 2 fans, as they are set to offer hours of exciting content. This includes:

    • Treasure Hunting
    • Bounty Hunting
    • Fort Defender
    • Bartenders
    • Smuggler Jobs
    • Safe Houses
    • Taxi Jobs
    • Stables

After a long time in development, Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier for Red Dead Redemption 2 is now completely finished and free to download for those who own the hit Rockstar Games title on PC. So, if you want yet another excuse to start another playthrough, look no further than this stunning single-player expansion which offers a nod to the history of the franchise.
