God of War fans have had a lot of exciting news to chew on lately, with the recent announcement of Sony’s State of Play on June 2 fueling speculation that a major reveal of the next mainline game could be imminent. Further, fans are cautiously optimistic about the upcoming God of War television series from Amazon, which despite skipping over Kratos’ Greek saga in favor of the Norse era, has a ton of potential to be a truly special video game adaptation.
Additionally, gamers have God of War: Sons of Sparta to look forward to, which is a small-scale 2D action-platformer developed by Santa Monica Studio alongside Mega Cat Studios, as well as the full God of War 1–3 Greek trilogy remake. However, while Sony has confirmed the trilogy remake is officially in development, they also reiterated that it may be a while before we get our hands on it.
Ultimately, there’s a lot to talk about in God of War circles at the moment, and gamers will want to mark their calendars for the absolutely incredible upcoming release of God of War: Thor from Prime 1 Studio, officially set to arrive in January 2027 (via Sideshow).
Prime 1 Studio and Sideshow have officially launched a new addition to the Real Elite Masterline series of collectible statues featuring Thor from God of War: Ragnarök. The 1:3 scale Thor statue is currently available for pre-order on both the Prime 1 Studio official storefront and Sideshow, and comes in three separate limited-edition versions: Standard, Deluxe, and Deluxe Bonus.
They’re expected to ship from Sideshow from January to July 2027, and the Deluxe Bonus editions will cost collectors a whopping $2000 to $2,325 USD depending on the chosen retailer. The statues feature a highly detailed depiction of Thor measuring 41.3 inches (105 cm) tall, wielding the iconic Mjölnir hammer and standing on a custom frozen tundra base, “where Huginn and Muninn take flight… Behind Thor rises a stone statue of his father, Odin—a symbol of the crushing burden placed upon his back as a god of Asgard.”
The Deluxe edition of the Thor statue from Prime 1 Studio comes with two swappable heads featuring a serious and angry expression, three swappable left arms with Mjölnir in various positions, a removable fabric cloak, head stand, LED-lit eyes and left arm, as well as an “LED summoning effect.” The Bonus edition also comes with a separate display model of Mjölnir.
While this is a seriously expensive collectible statue that only the most hardcore fans are likely to add to their collections, it’s limited to just 300 units total, and they’re likely to sell out sooner than you’d think. God of War fans will definitely want to check out the entire line of Real Elite Masterline collectible statues from Prime 1 Studio, and can even take advantage of special financing options through Sideshow if needed. The Thor statue is sure to be a compelling conversation piece for any God of War enthusiasts looking to take their collection up a level.
