In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of International Peace Day, The Good News Corporation & Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine proudly present “Pause For Peace” a five hour concert event on Saturday September 21, 2024 @ the cornerstone of the world, Times Square, in New York City. Three of the featured performers from The King Moore Unity Project will be 8 year old King Moore, 9 year old Royal Rose, & 7 year old Lake Anthony, singing their cover of one of the world’s most iconic songs of love and peace “Put A Little Love In Your Heart”, written by trailblazing songwriter Jackie DeShannon, her brother Randy Myers, and legend Jimmy Holiday. The song was originally recorded by Ms. DeShannon and has been covered by a marathon of artists.
The King Moore Unity Project was released via Tribeca Record/Tony Mercedes Music on August 23, 2024. The magical video was released on August 28, 2024 and already has nearly 200K views. The Unity Project stars King Moore, Lake Anthony, Royal Rose, Kanary Yellow, DJ Cool Kid, Kash Mania, and Nova Starr, who range in age from 6 to 11 years old. Manager and producer of the project, two-time Grammy winning music publisher Tony Mercedes when asked why he picked seven random kids off various social platforms, and who had no real singing experience answered “the message was bigger than the melody.”
He went on to say “I wanted to speak truth to power in the ideology, that if one can believe one can achieve anything they put their mind to.” The song is executive produced by Tony Mercedes, Jackie DeShannon and Eileen Shapiro and the video is dedicated to the late Randy Myers.
“There are angels everywhere, they are in the quiet corners, I want to make sure they are in the shadows, they are in their ordinary clothes, and they are beautiful. Make room for the angels, they will catch you, unaware and fill your heart in ways you never could imagine.”
King Moore, who is not only a singer, rapper, and actor but is also a Washington DC appointed anti-gun advocate. His mantra is “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.” He also proclaims “children are 100% our future. Together King and Lake will have the honor of ringing the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) Peace Bell (rang by world leaders and US Presidents). They will then introduce the opening act Composer Randy Edelman who will perform for peace.
The festivities will start with a drum circle after which at 12:00 PM UN Peace Messenger Ringo Starr will virtually ask the entire world for a moment of silence for Peace, and a cease fire. There will also be virtual messages throughout the day from Michael Douglas, Shakira, Dr. Jane Goodall, Leonardo DiCaprio and Stevie Wonder. Other live performers and dignitaries include AY Young a multi-faceted artist and a beacon of inspiration and global impact, OMMM (who co- produced the event), Commissioner Jeff Dannhauser and the Administration of Children Services, Sister Jena, influencer with 39 million followers Anushuka Sen, Keith Shocklee (Public Enemy), THE AMERICAN RELICS, Irene Michaels, and a marathon of others. Producer and founder of The Good News Corporation Paul Sladkus will also perform. Also featured will be the largest Peace Friendship Tree art piece standing at 10 ft. tall and 26.3 ft. wide by the American Oriental Arts Foundation. The event will also be live streamed globally.
