Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is demanding the 1/6 Committee allow “rebuttal witnesses” and threatening to hold her own 1/6 Committee hearings.
Greene tweeted:
If the @January6thCmte won’t allow these men to testify on television, broadcasted on every major network, I’m going to start holding my own J6 committee hearings.
I might just do it anyways. https://t.co/q9HFZVffXa

Peter Alexander’s tweet that Greene is commenting above contains quite a bit of parsing from his source. Hutchinson didn’t claim that Trump assaulted the agent, but that he tried to. There is no denial in Alexander’s tweet that Trump tried something.
Imagine Marjorie Taylor Greene in a room with her own 1/6 Committee made up of stuffed animals with “rebuttal witnesses” everywhere. Congressional hearings are not criminal courts. There are no rebuttal witnesses. The hearing is not a trial. Marjorie Taylor Greene is in Congress and she seems to have no idea how hearings work.
If Greene wants to hold her own 1/6 Committee hearings, she should have at it. I can’t wait to see Greene get legislation passed in the House authorizing her Committee. There is not going to be a Marjorie Taylor Greene version of the 1/6 Committee.
Greene did request a pardon from Trump, so she might get to see how the Committee works up close if she is called to testify.
