Former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone will testify before the 1/6 Committee in private on Friday.
Maggie Haberman of The New York Times tweeted the scoop:
NEWS: Deal for Cipollone to testify on Friday in transcribed interview, per person briefed on the matter.

Minutes later, the agreement was confirmed by CNN’s Kaitlin Collins:
Confirming @maggieNYT, former Trump White House counsel Pat Cipollone will testify in a transcribed interview with the Jan. 6 committee this Friday. He is appearing under subpoena, which was extended until July 8.

While it would have been nice if Cipollone testified in public before the Committee, it is not essential that he do so.
The transcribed interview under oath is the most important element for the 1/6 Committee. Cipollone is key because he has knowledge of all of the elements of Trump’s plot. He knows about efforts to overturn the election by pressuring states. The former White House Counsel has knowledge of the fake elector scheme, and he was present in the White House before and during the attack on the Capitol.
Cipollone can confirm evidence that the Committee has gathered and also offer new information.
The deal for Cipollone’s testimony is a big win for the 1/6 Committee because they avoid the criminal referral process and a protracted legal fight.
