A former boyfriend of missing Christina Downer, the sister of Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie, has been charged with her murder.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday (November 2) that Delorean Bijon Brandon (41) has been charged with one count of murder and two felony counts of injuring a spouse. A co-defendant, Kaylee Markowski (34), faces one felony charge of accessory after the fact.
“More than a year has passed since Christina Downer vanished and her family and friends have dealt with uncertainty amid the profound loss of someone they loved so much,” District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement. “Although Ms. Downer has not been located, we are charging two individuals today who are accused of playing a role in her death and disappearance and we will hold them accountable for their actions.”
Brandon is accused of killing Downer (38) on or about September 19, 2025, while Markowski is alleged to have helped him dispose of her body. Downer was Brandon’s girlfriend at the time, per the DA’s office. In addition, Brandon is charged with assaulting his wife on two separate occasions in 2022.
In a statement released Friday (October 30), the LAPD said Downer’s ex-husband requested a welfare check last December after being unable to reach her for “an extended period of time.” Police said Brandon told them Downer had moved out months earlier and left all her belongings behind, including her vehicle and dog.

Detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division later took over the case after Downer’s cell phone was discovered “washed ashore at Santa Monica Beach.”
The case came to light last year when Fowlie, a writer on SNL since 2022, shared a missing persons poster of his sister on social media. “My sister has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe… Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police,” he wrote.
Fowlie returned with an update in April 2026, writing, “The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation. Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable.”
