On August 25, 2026, America’s longest-running children’s television show brought that magic straight into the heart of Times Square with the inaugural Wonder Games, a full day of music, games and play built around one simple, beautiful idea: The Games Everyone Can Play. And before the day was done, Wonderama had also handed out its very first Wonder Award to a United States senator.
The Crossroads of the World was transformed into a playground. Families gathered for live musical performances, classic Wonderama games, creator showcases and family activities, while students went head to head in esports competitions featuring Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Hosts David Osmond, Chuckie and Alisa Obrivanova kept the energy soaring from start to finish, and the stage belonged to performers including Kylie Marshall, Renee Leavitt and Big Ocean, the Korean boy band whose members are hard of hearing. The emotional high point came when Chuckie and Alisa presented the first-ever Wonderama Wonder Award to Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, honoring his leadership and commitment to protecting children and young people in the digital world, including his work on the Kids Online Safety Act. It was a fitting choice for the debut of the honor. Wonderama has spent decades celebrating imagination, education, inclusion and family, and the award was created to recognize someone who has made the well-being of kids a mission.
Charles Armstrong, President, CEO and Executive Producer of Wonderama Entertainment Holdings, explained why the senator was the right person to receive it. “Wonderama is all about inspiring kids to discover their best selves and giving every child the confidence to say, ‘I can do that too,’” he said. “That is why we are so honored that Senator Richard Blumenthal is the very first recipient of the inaugural Wonderama Wonder Award.”
Senator Blumenthal spoke from the heart about the young people at the center of his work. “Nothing is more important than our children and their well-being — they are 100 percent of our future,” he said. “I will fight as long and hard as necessary to pass the Kids Online Safety Act, my bipartisan legislation to keep children safe online and hold Big Tech accountable.”
