How to Wear Jewelry: A Guide for Men

New to the world of jewelry?

Most people like the way they look, even when they have too much jewelry on. Don’t take it off. Wear it right, and you can accentuate the right things.

If you’re not sure how to do that correctly, keep reading to learn what to include, what to leave out, and which can be your go-to pieces. Try these tips the next time you want to put together a new outfit.

Don’t worry. We have you covered with how to wear jewelry in this guide.

    Not Wearing Jewelry With Confidence

For men not wearing jewelry with confidence, incorporating jewelry into an outfit should be done gradually and thoughtfully. Begin with a few simple pieces of jewelry like a leather bracelet or a watch. The best thing about these pieces is that they are subtle and easy to combine with different items of clothing.

When wearing statement jewelry, pair it with simple other pieces of clothing. Remember not to go overboard. It is possible to make a strong statement with just a few out-of-the-ordinary pieces of jewelry.

Not Paying Attention to Your Environment

For men who do not pay attention to their environment when it comes to wearing jewelry, it is important to be aware of what kind of look is expected in different settings. For example, wearing a large silver necklace to a formal event is not advised, whereas it would be more appropriate in a more casual setting.

Earth tones, such as brown and black, are generally more accepted for business casual and formal occasions, while lighter colors, like silver and gold, are more appropriate for more casual events. It is also important to stay aware of the amount of jewelry worn.

    Over-Accessorizing

There is no need to overdo it; a few statement jewelry pieces should be more than enough to make a statement. When wearing jewelry, it’s important to remember balance. Skip the excessive piercings and overly large pieces, as they can be overwhelming on the face.

Single statement pieces, such as a gold or silver chain and wristwatch, work well, as do a few rings, depending on the occasion or look desired. When in doubt, whether it comes to layering, pairs, or single pieces, ask a trustworthy style expert for a second opinion.

    Wearing Jewelry Unbalanced

When wearing jewelry unbalanced as a man, it is important to be mindful of how you naturally frame your look. Depending on what kind of jewelry you’re wearing, one notable piece should take center stage, and the remainder should pair in balance with that piece.

Another trick is to think of how to wear jewelry as a way to bring out the little accents on your outfit. For example, if you’re wearing a navy blue shirt, try wearing a smart silver or gold bracelet to carry out the navy tones. Also, think about the scale of the jewelry.

Not Choosing the Best Pieces of Jewelry for Your Skin Tone

If you have a cool skin tone, which is characterized by blue or pink undertones, then silver jewelry is most complimentary. Silver accents can work especially well for you if you also have gray eyes. On the other hand, if you have a warm skin tone characterized by yellow undertones, then gold jewelry is most flattering.

This will particularly stand out if you have hazel or green eyes. When shopping for jewelry, it is important to take into account how it will look against your skin tone. Also, be sure to keep your hairstyle, clothing, and facial features in mind, as jewelry should be complementary to all of these.

Assuming That All Jewelry Is Feminine

Jewelry has been a popular accessory for women throughout history, but that doesn’t mean men can’t join in on the fun. There are a few ways men can rock jewelry without going overboard. To start, choose a classic piece, such as small stud earrings or a cuff bracelet.

Men should also avoid wearing too many oversized pieces, which can be overwhelming. Instead, they should focus on subtle or timeless pieces such as a watch, necklaces, or rings. Finally, men should focus on select pieces that they can mix and match and must remember not to overload with too many accessories.

    Don’t Go Overboard

When wearing jewelry, ensure you don’t go overboard. The key is to pair jewelry with clothing in a minimalist style. Choose a few pieces that complement your outfit, and don’t go for bling. Start with the basics, like a watch, a simple bracelet, and a few rings.

Keep things modern and sleek. It’s good to experiment with materials like silver, leather, and wooden jewelry. Limit the number of pieces so that your overall look remains simple and effortless. Be cautious of trends, as some fashion pieces can be too flashy and clash with the current occasion.

    Don’t Mix Metals

Wearing jewelry for men doesn’t need to be complicated. Although it may seem natural to mix metals, it is always best to stick with one metal when wearing jewelry as an accessory.

When using several pieces of jewelry, choose the same metal–avoid mixing silver and gold jewelry together. Silver jewelry suits blacks and whites, while gold jewelry works better against vibrant colors.

Consider Norse jewelry for a variety of jewelry options.

    Learn How to Wear Jewelry

Utilizing the tips in this guide, men can confidently accessorize with jewelry. Remember to consider what works best for your style, face shape, and sense of fashion. As you can see, learning how to wear jewelry can be easy and help you look your best.
